Give a future through Christian education
Why sponsorship is needed – In Ecuador, many children grow up in circumstances where good education is not something to take for granted. For many families, it is financially impossible to send their children to a safe, Christian school where they not only learn to read and do arithmetic, but are also formed in character, faith, and responsibility.
Our school at De Olijfberg, Unidad Educativa Monte de los Olivos, aims to reach exactly these children. With your support, they can receive an education rooted in God's Word and carried by love, care, and dedication.
What does it cost to send a child to school? – The total cost per student is €64 per month. For many families, this amount is too high, especially when the child is growing up in vulnerable circumstances. That is why we offer the possibility of partially sponsoring a child.
| Guidance and teachers | € 45,- |
| School materials and books | € 11,- |
| School maintenance | € 6,- |
| Administrative costs | € 2,- |
| Total | € 64,- |
How much can you sponsor? – You can support a child for 50% (€ 32), 60% (€ 38), 70% (€ 45), or 80% (€ 51) of the monthly costs.
Why not 100% sponsorship? – We deliberately choose not to offer full sponsorship. There is a principled reason for this. Christian education is a choice. We believe it is important that parents — however simple their circumstances may be — contribute a part themselves. Not because we want to burden them, but because in this way parents consciously choose Christian education, it is not seen as "the cheapest option," they remain involved in the school and the learning process, and appreciation grows when there is also personal investment.
This shared responsibility strengthens the cooperation between school and family and contributes to the formation of the child.
What do you receive as a sponsor? – You are not sponsoring an anonymous project, but investing in a real child, with a name, a story, and a future. As a sponsor you receive:
- a photo and short description of the child you are supporting,
- an update on his or her development twice a year,
- news from the school and the community,
- the assurance that your contribution goes directly toward Christian education.
What does your support mean for a child? – With your contribution, a child receives: access to Christian education, a safe and loving learning environment, daily Biblical formation, guidance from dedicated Christian teachers, and opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
Join us – change a life! – Would you like to help a child go to school?

Terms for participation in the sponsorship program
By completing and submitting the sponsorship form the sponsor agrees to the terms below.
1. Purpose of sponsorship – The sponsorship is intended to give children in Ecuador access to Christian education at the Unidad Educativa Monte de los Olivos. The school operates on the basis of the Bible as the Word of God and offers education focused on the formation of character, faith, and responsibility.
2. Partial sponsorship – The monthly costs per student are approximately €64. Sponsorship is possible from 50% up to a maximum of 80% of this amount. Full sponsorship is not possible. William Carey Missions Foundation considers it important that parents also contribute financially themselves, so that they consciously choose Christian education and not solely on the basis of cost. This shared responsibility strengthens the family's involvement with the school and contributes to the formation of the child.
3. Use of donations – Sponsorship is in principle linked to one specific child. The foundation strives to use the contributions received as much as possible for the child to whom the sponsor is connected, and the sponsor receives appropriate information and updates about this. At the same time, it cannot be guaranteed that every gift is spent exclusively on that one child. In order to comply with Dutch laws and regulations regarding earmarked gifts, and to prevent inequality between children, all sponsorship funds are managed within the school's broader education program. The funds are used wherever they are most needed within the program, always within the objective of Christian education and diaconal responsibility. This approach ensures that all children within the program receive equal opportunities and that the foundation handles the funds received in a careful and lawful manner.
4. Communication and updates – Sponsors periodically receive information about the education program and about the child they are supporting. The frequency and form of this communication may vary depending on local circumstances and the availability of information.
5. Duration and termination of sponsorship – Sponsorship can be cancelled on a monthly basis. Upon termination, sponsorship money already received will not be refunded. The foundation reserves the right to adjust the content of the sponsorship program if circumstances make this necessary.
6. Privacy – Personal data of sponsors is used exclusively for communication and accountability within the sponsorship program. Data is not shared with third parties and is processed in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
7. Identity and basis – William Carey Missions Foundation and the school operate from a Reformed faith conviction. Sponsors are not required to share this conviction, but are asked to respect it and to acknowledge that the education program is based on it.
